Gongju to host 2026 National Heritage Night in September

Gongju City will host the ‘2026 Gongju National Heritage Night’ from September 4 to September 6. The event marks the 100th anniversary of the ‘1926 Gongju City Map’ and focuses on the historical and academic value of the city’s modern heritage sites, such as the former Gongju Eup Office and Gongju Jeil Church.

The festival features 46 programs categorized into eight themes, including night views, night paths, night history, night paintings, night stories, night food, night markets, and night stays. Highlights include media facades on historic buildings, guided tours of alleyways, and various performances ranging from traditional intangible heritage to silent film dramas.

Additional activities include modern costume rentals, photo zones recreating 1920s shops, and special lectures. To support visitors, the city is offering discount coupons for those using KTX or express buses.
