South Korean National Heritage Night festivals
Overview
In late August 2026, multiple South Korean cities announced plans to host National Heritage Night festivals scheduled for September 4 to 6.
Gongju City will hold its event to mark the 100th anniversary of the ‘1926 Gongju City Map’. The festival focuses on modern heritage sites, such as the former Gongju Eup Office, and features 46 programs including media facades, guided alleyway tours, and traditional performances.
Simultaneously, Goryeong-gun and the Goryeong Cultural Tourism Foundation will host the ‘2026 Goryeong National Heritage Night’ at the Jisan-dong Tumuli UNESCO World Heritage site. Under the theme ‘Daegaya: Beautiful Night’, the event includes a firework display to celebrate the third anniversary of the site’s World Heritage listing, night markets, and various cultural performances.
