Gonzalo Castillo begins U.S. tour to bolster presidential bid

Gonzalo Castillo, a presidential aspirant for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), is beginning an extensive tour of the United States to strengthen his political project and connect with the Dominican diaspora.

The itinerary includes meetings with business leaders, merchants, party officials, and militants across several locations, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Lawrence (Massachusetts), and Rhode Island. Castillo aims to present his political vision and consolidate his party structure abroad, a move seen as strategic for the 2028 electoral process.

This tour follows a similar pattern previously established by fellow PLD aspirant Francisco Javier García. As part of his upcoming schedule, Castillo is expected to hold an event this weekend at the 809 restaurant in Upper Manhattan, a significant gathering point for the Dominican community in New York.
