Good Morning America reclaims top morning news viewership spot
ABC News’ Good Morning America reclaimed the top spot as the most-watched morning news broadcast in total viewers for the week of August 10, 2026. According to Nielsen data, the program averaged 2.772 million total viewers, narrowly surpassing NBC News’ Today, which recorded 2.757 million viewers.
While Good Morning America led in total volume, NBC News’ Today maintained its dominance in the key Adults 25-54 demographic with 586,000 viewers. However, Today was the only major morning newscast to see a decline in this demographic, slipping 1% week-over-week.
CBS Mornings reported 1.707 million total viewers and 274,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic. The program saw growth in both categories, increasing total viewership by 5% and demographic viewership by 7% compared to the previous week.
