Goodwood Festival of Speed features historic GT40 reunion and unveils Ferrari Luce electric car

Three Ford GT40 MkII race cars that finished first, second and third at the 1966 Le Mans were displayed together for the first time in over a decade at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The cars – chassis P/1046, P/1015 and P/1016 – ran on Goodyear tires during the hill‑climb, with the gathering organized by Aaron Shelby, who secured the owners’ cooperation and Goodyear sponsorship. About 300,000 spectators watched the historic run, and the Duke of Richmond presented the Carroll Shelby Spirit Award.

At the same festival Ferrari introduced its first electric model, the Luce, in a private area for invited guests. The crossover, designed with input from former Apple designer Jony Ive, has a matte gray finish and measures over five metres in length. Ferrari has already sold its initial 88‑unit batch to China and all production through the end of 2027 is allocated, with the model confirmed for a Brazilian launch next year.
