Alpine A110 Future electric sports car showcased at Goodwood Festival

Alpine unveiled its A110 Future prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom from July 9‑12, 2024. The French‑made electric sports car was driven up the hill‑climb by Formula One driver Pierre Gasly, marking the first dynamic public test of the vehicle. Alpine’s engineers have adopted an unconventional split‑battery layout, placing roughly a quarter of the pack ahead of the driver and the remainder behind the rear axle to retain a low waistline and a 40:60 front‑to‑rear weight distribution. The system delivers around 70 kWh, enough for roughly 20 minutes of full‑power operation – the target needed for three fast laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife – and is paired with two rear‑mounted electric motors. The prototype sits on the new Alpine Performance Platform, which Alpine says will underpin future models including a roadster and a larger 2+2 variant. The Goodwood appearance highlighted the brand’s commitment to a lightweight, agile electric sports car that remains fun to drive, while underscoring Alpine’s broader strategy to focus on high‑performance electrified models as the company transitions away from conventional combustion‑engine offerings.
