Google expands AI Educator Series training in India and Philippines
Google is expanding its AI Educator Series, a training program designed to provide teachers with practical generative AI skills. In India, the company reported that more than 80,000 educators have received training since May 2026. The initiative is expanding through partnerships with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Sikkim. Google is also launching a free, self-paced online curriculum aligned with India’s National Education Policy 2020, with multiple regional language versions expected soon.
In the Philippines, Google has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to launch the program. The no-cost, on-demand training modules are designed to help educators use tools like Gemini to automate administrative tasks, create lesson outlines, and build interactive learning experiences. The program aims to position AI as a teaching assistant to increase efficiency and allow more time for direct student interaction.
