Google expands Scam Detection to Xiaomi and other Android devices

Google is expanding its AI-powered Scam Detection feature beyond Pixel devices to other Android manufacturers. Evidence found in the latest public beta of the Google Phone app (version 237.0.973536915) indicates that Xiaomi is being added to the list of compatible manufacturers.

Scam Detection uses on-device artificial intelligence to analyze phone calls in real time. It identifies suspicious patterns typical of fraudulent activity and alerts the user through dedicated messages and sounds. Because the processing happens locally on the device, user privacy is maintained.

While an official announcement has not been made, the feature has already been implemented on Pixel devices and certain Samsung models, such as the Galaxy S26 series. Similar traces have also been observed in relation to Vivo devices. It is currently unclear which specific Xiaomi models will receive the update first or if the rollout will be gradual across their entire portfolio.
