Fitbit Edge: Leaked images reveal Google's new midrange fitness tracker

Leaked retail images and technical details have revealed Google’s upcoming fitness wearable, the Fitbit Edge. Positioned as a middle ground between the screenless Fitbit Air and the high-end Pixel Watch 5, the device is expected to serve as a successor to the Fitbit Charge line, which has not seen a major update since 2023.

The Fitbit Edge features an elongated, oval-shaped display and is reported to offer up to seven days of battery life. Key technical specifications include built-in GPS, an altimeter for elevation tracking, and automatic activity recognition. While it lacks the full app ecosystem of a smartwatch, it will reportedly support essential applications such as Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Find My Phone, alongside smartphone notifications.

Notably, the device is expected to be compatible with both Android and iOS, providing an alternative for iPhone users seeking Google’s fitness platform. Design leaks suggest the tracker will be available in colors such as Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon, mirroring the Pixel 11 Pro palette. While official pricing and release dates remain unconfirmed, industry estimates place the device in the $149 to $199 range.
