Google Fotos launches AI virtual wardrobe in Brazil, US, and India

Google has completed the rollout of its AI-powered virtual wardrobe feature for Google Fotos in Brazil, the United States, and India, available on both Android and iOS. The tool uses artificial intelligence to analyze a user’s photos from the last four years to identify and catalog clothing items, accessories, and shoes into an organized digital closet.

Users can combine up to six items to create new looks and use a virtual fitting room feature to see how combinations appear on them. While the feature is being prioritized for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, it is also being released to selected user groups. Google states that personal style data is not shared with third-party retailers.

To improve accuracy, Google is reportedly developing an update that will allow users to “regenerate” images of clothing items. This feature aims to fix incorrect AI representations by allowing users to request a new version of an item's digital image, which can correct colors, technical details, or logo positioning to ensure higher fidelity to the real product.
