Google Gemini reaches 1 billion monthly users and launches 3.7 Flash model

Google's Gemini AI app has reached a major milestone, surpassing 1 billion monthly active users. CEO Sundar Pichai announced that this makes Gemini the fastest-growing product in the company's history and the 14th Google service to reach the 1 billion user mark.

Usage data reveals a shift toward multimodal and voice-based interactions. Approximately 63% of users engage with the assistant via voice commands, a trend particularly strong among parents. Additionally, one in five Gemini Live sessions involves live camera streaming or screen sharing to assist with real-world tasks. The platform also generates over 150 million images daily.

To expand its capabilities, Google is integrating Gemini with various third-party services, including Zocdoc for healthcare appointments, OpenTable, and Ticketmaster. The assistant can also automate actions within more than 40 popular Android applications.

Simultaneously, Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new model optimized for software coding and autonomous agent workflows. The model is positioned as a lower-cost option for businesses, featuring improved debugging and multi-step task planning capabilities.
