Google introduces AI wardrobe feature and storage management tips

Google has introduced a new AI-powered feature called ‘Wardrobe’ within the Google Photos app. This tool creates a digital closet by using artificial intelligence to recognize clothing items from existing photos in a user's library. Users can organize items by categories such as shirts, pants, and jewelry, and combine up to six pieces to create different outfits. The feature also includes a ‘Try it on’ option, which provides a digital simulation of how selected clothing combinations might look on the user.

In related technical guidance, users are advised on how to manage device storage via Google Photos. To avoid accidentally deleting cloud-synced memories, Google recommends using the ‘Free up space on this device’ option rather than manual deletion. This specific function removes only the local copies of photos and videos that have already been successfully backed up, ensuring they remain accessible via the Google account and web interface while reclaiming phone memory.
