Google introduces Fitbit Edge fitness tracker

Google has announced the Fitbit Edge, a slim fitness tracker featuring a hybrid OLED display with a 46% larger viewing area than previous models. The device includes built-in GPS, ECG support, an optical heart-rate monitor, skin temperature sensing, and sleep tracking. A notable feature is its modular design, which includes a replaceable battery and internal components for improved repairability.

The standard Fitbit Edge is priced at $179.99 in the US, while a Stephen Curry Special Edition is available for $219.99. Both models offer three months of Google Health Premium. In India, an official launch date and price have not yet been confirmed, though estimates suggest a price range between ₹19,999 and ₹22,000.

Additionally, Google has transitioned Fitbit’s menstrual health features into the Google Health app under the name Cycle health. This tool allows users to log period dates, symptoms, and ovulation test results to receive estimated cycle trends and fertile windows. Google notes that Cycle health is intended for informational purposes and is not a medical device for contraception or clinical findings.
