Google launches Search Profiles for creators in the US

On June 4, 2026 Google introduced Search Profiles, a new feature that gives publishers and creators a dedicated, claimable page inside Google Search and Discover. The profiles aggregate the latest articles, videos and social posts and can be accessed by tapping a name in Discover, clicking a button on a Knowledge Panel, or visiting a custom URL.

Eligibility is limited to creators with at least 100,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram or X, or 300,000 on TikTok, and they must be 18 or older. Profiles display a header image, bio, follower count, a live content feed and a “Follow on Google” button, which boosts the creator’s visibility in Discover feeds. Claiming a profile may also trigger a Knowledge Panel, enhancing credibility. Google says the rollout is US‑only for now, with plans to expand. The move is framed as a response to declining click‑through rates caused by AI‑generated overviews that reduce traffic to publisher sites.
