Google limits Gemini Nano 4 support to select Pixel and Samsung devices

Google has updated its official documentation regarding Gemini Nano 4, the engine powering its latest on-device AI features. Currently, support for this technology is limited to seven specific Android devices: four models from the Pixel 11 series (including the Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold) and three Samsung foldables (Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra).

While Samsung devices are compatible with the Nano 4 chip, certain advanced Gemini Intelligence features like Rambler and Create My Widget are initially exclusive to the Pixel 11 series. These tools aim to provide faster, more private processing by reducing reliance on cloud servers.

Additionally, Google is expanding its AI-driven Device Help feature. Running on Android 17, this function allows users to control device settings—such as brightness, battery saver, or Do Not Disturb—via natural language text or voice commands. Unlike the Nano 4 hardware requirements, Device Help is expected to be available on all Pixel smartphones running Android 17, including models dating back to the Pixel 6.
