Google Maps integrates real-time fuel prices in the UK
Google Maps has introduced a new feature in the United Kingdom that displays real-time fuel prices directly on the navigation map. This update integrates official data from the “Fuel Finder” database, which requires gas stations to report price changes within 30 minutes.
Unlike Waze, which relies on manual user updates, this integration uses mandatory official data to ensure accuracy. Users can view prices for unleaded gasoline and diesel via mobile devices or through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, potentially offering significant annual savings by helping drivers avoid expensive stations.
