Google Meet introduces Quick notes for automated meeting summaries

Google Meet is enhancing its ‘Take notes for me’ feature with the introduction of ‘Quick notes’. This update provides users with a concise, one-page summary of meetings, organized by topic, which highlights key points and specific action items.

These summaries appear in the main tab of the automatically generated Google Docs file following a meeting. For users requiring more detail, the original full notes remain accessible in a separate tab to preserve conversation context. A similar summary version is also sent via email.

The feature is available to Google Workspace users and those with Gmail subscriptions for Google AI Pro or Ultra. To provide better privacy and control, starting September 29, administrators and users can configure the tool to activate only for meetings with three or more participants, preventing the automatic recording of one-on-one conversations.
