Google Photos expands AI Wardrobe feature to iOS
Google has expanded its AI-powered ‘Wardrobe’ feature to iOS users in the United States, Brazil, and India. Previously exclusive to Android, this tool uses artificial intelligence to scan a user’s photo library, identify clothing items, and organize them into a digital catalog categorized by type, such as tops, bottoms, and jewelry.
Users can interact with this digital closet by mixing and matching different pieces to create new outfits and virtually ‘try them on’ via AI previews. The feature also allows for the creation of moodboards and the sharing of outfit combinations with others. Google stated that data regarding user clothing choices is not shared with third-party retailers.
In addition to the Wardrobe update, Google Photos is introducing other AI enhancements. These include new templates for the ‘Remix’ tool to transform images and advanced editing capabilities through Gemini, allowing users to perform complex tasks like removing background crowds or adjusting framing using natural language commands.
