Google Pixel 11 introduces new camera styles and Hilight notifications

Google has released the Pixel 11 series, introducing several new hardware and software features. A primary highlight is the new camera styles feature, which allows users to adjust the photographic look of an image during the capture process rather than applying a standard post-capture filter. These styles include options like ‘Digi’, which mimics the high contrast and specific noise of early 2010s pocket cameras, and ‘Minimal’, which offers low processing to reflect the raw sensor data.

Additionally, the Pixel 11 Pro models feature a new hardware-based notification system called ‘Hilight’. This utilizes colored LEDs near the camera flash to serve as a notification light when the phone is placed face down. The feature can pulse to indicate when the device is listening for ‘Hey Google’ via Gemini, or it can glow in specific colors to signal calls from designated contacts.
