Google Pixel 11 series sees price hikes and reduced RAM
Google has announced the new Pixel 11 series, noting price increases across the lineup due to rising component costs for RAM and storage. The Pixel 11 starts at $899, while the Pixel 11 Pro begins at $1,099 and the Pro XL at $1,299.
Despite the higher entry prices, Google has reduced the RAM in the base Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL models to 12GB, down from 16GB in previous generations. A Google spokesperson attributed this decision to a severe industry-wide RAM shortage, stating that adjustments to pricing and configurations were necessary to mitigate costs while attempting to provide value. While the base storage for the standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro has doubled to 256GB, the higher-end models maintain their previous starting capacities.
