Google reportedly developing next-gen Google TV Streamer

Google is reportedly developing a second-generation Google TV Streamer that introduces hands-free voice control and smart display capabilities. The upcoming hardware refresh is expected to include built-in microphones, allowing users to activate Google Assistant using “Hey Google” commands without needing to use a remote control.

In addition to voice integration, the device may feature presence detection. This technology could enable the television to respond automatically when someone enters a room, such as activating a Google Photos screensaver or displaying ambient information like weather and time.

While the device is expected to retain much of its predecessor's design, reports suggest a slightly narrower body and internal hardware upgrades, including a faster processor and increased onboard storage to improve responsiveness and app capacity. Google has not yet officially announced the specifications, price, or launch date for the new model.
