Google teases Fitbit Edge fitness tracker for October 12 launch

Google has officially teased the upcoming Fitbit Edge, confirming a launch date of October 12, 2026. The announcement, made via social media posts on Instagram and X, featured the slogan “Get an Edge on your health,” which strongly suggests the device's name.

The new wearable is expected to occupy a mid-range position in Google's hardware lineup, sitting between the screenless Fitbit Air and the premium Pixel Watch 5. It is positioned as a potential successor to the Fitbit Charge 6.

Leaked specifications suggest the Fitbit Edge will feature a 1.34-inch AMOLED touchscreen with Always-on display support. The device is expected to offer up to seven days of battery life with the Always-on feature disabled, and approximately two days with it enabled. Technical reports indicate the tracker will include GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, and integration with Google's Gemini AI for personalized coaching. Health tracking capabilities are expected to include heart rate, SpO2, ECG, skin temperature, and menstrual cycle tracking, alongside over 40 exercise modes. The device is rumored to be priced around 179 to 180 euros.
