Google tests integrated PDF translation for Chrome

Google is developing a feature to allow users to translate PDF documents directly within the Chrome desktop browser. This capability was recently identified in the Chrome Canary experimental version via a new flag titled ‘enable-translate-pdf’.

While the underlying logic has been merged into Chromium for desktop platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS, the feature is currently in an early experimental stage. At present, enabling the flag does not produce a visible user interface, such as new buttons or menu options, as the visual components are still being developed.

Once implemented, the tool aims to eliminate the need for users to export text to external services like Google Translate or Google Docs to process PDF content.
