Google Wallet rolls out full-screen redesign for Android passes
Google is rolling out a significant redesign for digital passes within the Google Wallet app on Android. The update moves away from the previous small, rectangular card format in favor of an immersive, full-screen display.
A key feature of the new design is the use of brand identity; the background of a digital pass now fills the entire screen with the primary color of the associated brand. The layout has also been restructured, with the issuing organization's logo positioned at the top center and user-specific data moved to the bottom of the screen to create a clearer information hierarchy.
Functional improvements include enhanced interactivity through scrolling. Users can now access linked actions, such as calling a phone number or visiting an official website, directly from within the pass. Additionally, management features like nickname editing and usage preferences have been integrated directly into the pass view, rather than being tucked away in a separate menu. While the redesign applies to loyalty cards and boarding passes, transit cards currently retain the previous design.
