GoPro releases firmware update for Mission 1 series cameras
GoPro has released a free firmware update for its Mission 1 series cameras that introduces continuous shooting capabilities. Users can now hold the shutter button to capture over 100 photos at 12 MP or more than 20 RAW photos at 50 MP, depending on lighting and hardware performance.
The update addresses previous limitations regarding photo processing speeds. Instead of waiting for each shot to process, the camera now captures images in rapid succession and queues them for processing once the shutter is released. The update also includes an on-screen indicator for buffer limits and an updated shutter sound.
Additionally, the MISSION Monitor live-preview app for iPhone and iPad has been updated with new exposure tools, including histograms, waveforms, RGB parade, and false color. Through the GoPro Labs beta program, the Mission 1 PRO ILS now supports various anamorphic lens squeeze ratios.
