GoPro releases PolarPro close-up filters for MISSION 1 cameras

GoPro has announced the release of new close-up diopter filters designed for its MISSION 1 and MISSION 1 PRO camera series. Developed in collaboration with PolarPro, these filters are made from optical-grade, multi-coated glass and are intended to provide a closer focus range and shallower depth of field for more cinematic footage.

The filters are designed to slide directly over the camera’s fixed lens or an existing ND filter. Because the focus is static, no manual adjustments are required. The product line includes a single +0.5 diopter filter priced at $49.99, or a set containing +0.5, +1, and +2 diopters for $99.99, which includes a travel case.

Each strength offers a specific fixed focus range: the +0.5 diopter covers 50 to 150cm, the +1 covers 45 to 90cm, and the +2 covers 30 to 50cm. These accessories aim to enhance subject separation and background blur for vlogging, lifestyle, and travel videography.
