Goran Minchev calls for public administration reform in North Macedonia

Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev emphasized the need for institutional reforms in North Macedonia aimed at reducing bureaucracy and improving public services. Speaking at the opening of a three-day TAIEX workshop focused on strengthening the public sector quality management system, Minchev stated that success should be measured by citizen satisfaction and efficiency rather than the volume of administrative decisions.

The workshop included remarks from the Austrian Ambassador, Martin Pammer, highlighting ongoing cooperation and the sharing of expertise to enhance public sector management. To support these reform efforts, the Ministry of Public Administration has implemented quality assessments using the ‘mystery client’ method and surveys involving more than 600 citizens and 70 direct inspections.
