Romanian Police launch Crime Prevention Week across multiple counties

Police departments across various Romanian counties are conducting ‘Crime Prevention Week’ from September 21 to 25, 2026. The initiative focuses on community education and reducing victimization through targeted daily themes.

Activities include sessions in schools and public spaces addressing child safety, bullying, and cyberbullying. Other focus areas include online security and data protection, the prevention of domestic violence, protecting seniors from fraud and theft, and raising awareness about the risks of drug trafficking and consumption.

In Vrancea, the project ‘Beyond Appearances’ involves partnerships between police, penitentiaries, and educational authorities, featuring direct dialogues between inmates and students to illustrate the long-term consequences of antisocial behavior. Similar preventive-educational programs are being implemented in Gorj, Covasna, Dâmbovița, and Neamț.
