Gorontalo implements new budget planning and student financial support

In Gorontalo, regional authorities and financial institutions are implementing new initiatives focused on administrative planning and student financial support.

Bappeda Provinsi Gorontalo held technical guidance sessions from September 14 to 15, 2026, to strengthen the Integrated Government Internal Control System (SPIP). Head of Bappeda, Wahyudin A. Katili, emphasized that internal controls must be established during the planning stage rather than after activities are completed. The goal is to ensure that budget planning is based on actual needs, targets, and measurable results rather than mere budget absorption.

Separately, Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) Gorontalo distributed savings books to 1,613 students receiving KIP Kuliah scholarships at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG). Branch Manager Irwan Hasbullah stated the distribution ensures aid is delivered safely and on time. To promote digital financial literacy, BTN introduced the ‘Balé RACE’ program, a competition within their mobile banking app that rewards students with prizes like laptops and tablets for active digital transactions.
