Gospin otok hosts celebrations for Croatian historical anniversaries

A central Eucharistic celebration was held on Gospin otok in Solin to commemorate significant milestones in Croatian history and faith. The event marked the 1050th anniversary of the death of Queen Jelena, the 950th anniversary of the coronation of King Dmitar Zvonimir, and the 50th anniversary of the great Solin celebration of 1976.

The Mass at the Holy Family Church was led by Archbishop and Metropolitan of Split-Makarska, Mons. Zdenko Križić, alongside numerous bishops, priests, and religious figures. During his sermon, Archbishop Križić emphasized that Gospin otok is a space where the prayers, hopes, and faith of the Croatian people have been woven for centuries, noting that Queen Jelena built a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary at this site.
