Gostivar motorcyclist detained for speeding on highway

A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Gostivar has been detained after being caught traveling at 188 km/h on the Gostivar–Tetovo highway. The speed was recorded in a zone where the maximum permitted limit is 80 km/h.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the driver, identified as V.B., was intercepted by the Mobile Unit for Road Safety using a specialized police interceptor vehicle. The individual faces charges of ‘reckless driving of a motor vehicle’ under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

Authorities stated that intensified traffic controls using interceptor vehicles will continue nationwide to increase road safety and penalize irresponsible drivers.
