Government agencies deploy social aid to rural regions in Chile and Argentina
Various government and municipal agencies in Chile and Argentina are deploying social assistance to rural and remote populations.
In Chile, sixteen families in the Pinguidahue sector of Purén received emergency aid, including hygiene kits, food boxes, and silage for livestock, following heavy snowfall and access difficulties. This effort was coordinated by the Municipality of Purén with support from the Malleco Farmers Society and SENAPRED.
Additionally, in Lonquimay, fifteen rural families in areas such as Pedregoso and Pehuenco Bajo received housing equipment, including beds, mattresses, and bedding, through the ORASMI Fund. This initiative was managed by the La Araucanía Regional Presidential Delegation and the Lonquimay Municipality to improve living conditions in isolated zones.
In Argentina, the Ministry of Human Development announced a schedule for the “Comer en Casa” program in the Puna region. Food modules will be distributed directly to beneficiary families in Abra Pampa, Tres Cruces, and Cusi Cusi throughout late August to ensure food security in these locations.
