Government of FBiH approves funds for municipalities and environmental research

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved several financial allocations aimed at local development, social welfare, and environmental research.

In terms of regional development, approximately 1.99 million KM will be distributed equally, providing 166,000 KM each to 12 underdeveloped municipalities, including Domaljevac-Šamac, Glamoč, Ravno, Drvar, Bužim, Ključ, Foča, Čelić, Bosansko Grahovo, Teočak, Sapna, and Dobretići. These funds require expenditure reports by the end of 2026.

Additionally, 5 million KM has been allocated for social welfare and infrastructure. This includes 2 million KM for non-profit organizations to improve capacity and housing, and 3 million KM for social work centers and institutions. Specific allocations include support for safe houses in Ljubuški, a daycare center for children with developmental disabilities in Posušje, and housing solutions for children of war victims in Novo Sarajevo.

To address environmental concerns in Vareš, the government has allocated 76,120 KM for technical analyses. This funding will support the Federal Institute for Agriculture and the Federal Institute for Agropedology in acquiring specialized equipment, such as an ICPMS device for heavy metal analysis and a portable XRF analyzer for soil testing, to investigate potential pollution causes in the region.
