Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla oversees new IMSS hospital construction in Zitácuaro

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla and IMSS state delegate Miguel Ángel Van Dick inspected the construction of a new specialty hospital in Zitácuaro, Michoacán. The facility will contain 150 beds and employ 1,100 staff, including 104 specialist doctors already hired, and will feature a hemodialysis unit for chronic kidney patients.

The project has generated 270 direct jobs and is slated for completion by the end of December 2026, with public services expected to begin in January‑February 2027. Officials noted that the initiative, started three years ago, was accelerated with support from President Claudia Sheinbaum under the Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia.
