Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya inaugurates 'La Gran Fuerza de México' exhibition in Matamoros
On July 20, 2026, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya opened the interactive exhibition “La Gran Fuerza de México” at the Parque Olímpico in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. The ceremony was attended by Mayor Alberto (Beto) Granados Fávila, Senator Olga Sosa Ruiz, Magistrate Tania Contreras López, and General Rubén Darío Díaz Esparza, commander of the Fourth Military Region. The display showcases the Army, Air Force and National Guard through interactive modules, aimed at families and youth during the summer vacation period.
The governor emphasised the exhibition’s role in strengthening ties between the armed forces and the community and linked it to the city’s bicentennial celebrations. He also highlighted ongoing strategic projects on the Tamaulipas border, including infrastructure, logistics and social programs, underscoring coordination among federal, state and municipal authorities. Following the inauguration, officials unveiled a commemorative plaque for recent renovations of the Mundo Nuevo Convention Center, signaling continued investment in public spaces.
