Governor Vilela Inspects Modernization of Hugo Hospital in Goiânia
On Saturday, 20 June 2026, Goiás Governor Daniel Vilela visited the Hospital Estadual de Urgências Dr. Valdemiro Cruz (Hugo) in Goiânia to inspect ongoing modernization works. Accompanied by State Health Secretary Rasível dos Santos, the governor toured the emergency, urgency and inpatient wards, speaking with patients and medical staff.
Vilela said the state is committed to providing dignified, rapid and quality care, noting that the upgrades aim to improve the hospital’s operational capacity, comfort and safety. The health secretary highlighted continuous investments in infrastructure, equipment and staff training to strengthen the unit’s ability to serve the population. During the visit, officials observed that no patients were waiting in corridors or queues, reflecting the administration’s effort to maintain organized services amid a recent rise in demand for hospital care.
The modernization project targets better flow of attendances, enhanced equipment and overall preparedness of the Hugo facility, which is a strategic point for urgent and emergency care in the state.
