Governor Daniel Vilela tops 2026 Goiás poll as allies rebuff PSDB overtures

A recent poll by Paraná Pesquisas shows incumbent governor Daniel Vilela (MDB) leading the 2026 Goiás gubernatorial race with 44.4% of voter intention, far ahead of former governor Marconi Perillo (PSDB) at 25.4%. Other contenders include senator Wilder Morais (PL) at 11.5% and minor candidates trailing below 4%.

In parallel, former state deputy Chiquinho Oliveira publicly dismissed rumours of a shift toward the PSDB, reaffirming his commitment to the governing coalition led by Governor Vilela and former governor Ronaldo Caiado. Oliveira highlighted his role in building the alliance between Caiado and Vilela and mentioned potential movement to a regulatory agency post‑legislature. Both pieces illustrate the consolidation of the ruling bloc in Goiás ahead of the upcoming election.
