Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar boosts Chiapas civil protection and fisheries infrastructure

Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar of Chiapas announced the delivery of 16 new trucks equipped with Starlink antennas and Airbus communications systems, along with 320‑type heavy machinery, to regional civil‑protection offices. The equipment is intended to improve emergency response, flood‑control work and road rehabilitation during the rainy season. He also pledged salary increases for civil‑protection personnel performing high‑risk duties and highlighted other projects such as expanding the state ambulance network and implementing an anti‑seismic alert system.

In parallel, the state government completed a dredging operation on coastal mangrove canals to deepen waterways for local fishermen. The dredge created a channel up to three metres deep over roughly 450 metres of length, with a width of 30‑32 metres. Fishermen reported being able to navigate with motor‑powered boats for the first time, praising the governor’s support for the fishing and aquaculture sector.
