Governor Eduardo Ramírez launches women’s center and road projects in Mexico’s Soconusco

Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar toured the Soconusco municipalities of Mazatán and Huehuetán, highlighting gender‑equality, environmental and infrastructure initiatives. In Mazatán he inaugurated the Centro LIBRE, a women's care centre under the Paibim programme promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aimed at empowerment and violence‑free spaces for girls and women. He also announced the rehabilitation of local roads with an investment exceeding 10 million pesos.

In Huehuetán, the governor inspected the restoration and sanitation of micro‑basins in the Tepehuitz ejido, a project that protects water resources and conserves 150 hectares for 240 families. He announced the start of comprehensive works on the Tapachula‑Arriaga‑Chamulapita road segment, a 14.5 million‑peso effort to upgrade two kilometres of highway and benefit more than 3,000 residents. Local officials praised the initiatives for supporting women victims of violence, small producers and the preservation of natural areas.
