Governor Hazem Al‑Ashmouni of Egypt's Sharqia launches religious outreach, closes illegal hospital, creates jobs

Governor Hazem Al‑Ashmouni met with Sheikh Ali Gouda, director of the Al‑Azhar preaching region, and officials from the Waqf, Youth and Sports ministries to implement a series of religious outreach caravans across Sharqia. The initiative, coordinated with the Al‑Azhar Research Center, aims to promote moderate Islamic teachings, strengthen ethical values and counter extremist ideas.

In a separate health‑safety operation, the governor supervised a rapid inspection in Kafr Saqr that uncovered a private hospital operating without a license and failing basic infection‑control and waste‑management standards. The facility was sealed, patients were transferred to public hospitals, and legal proceedings were launched against the operators.

The governor also announced the creation of twelve private‑sector job positions and the distribution of urgent cash assistance, food vouchers and housing‑need studies to vulnerable families, including first‑care households and people with disabilities. The measures were presented during a weekly citizens’ meeting attended by local officials.
