Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru Rejects Claims Tinubu Handed State to Wike

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state refuted rumors that President Bola Tinubu had transferred political control of the state to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Nyesom Wike ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking at a stakeholders’ rally in Abakaliki organized to support his re‑election bid, Nwifuru said allies of Wike were spreading the claim and warned, “Ebonyi is not for sale.”

He urged opponents not to press the issue, reiterated his support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), and highlighted ongoing development projects and federal initiatives in the south‑east region.
