Governor Ricardo Gallardo advances road project for Fenapo fair and expands joint security ops in San Luis Potosí

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona announced that the lower section of Circuito Potosí and Avenida de las Torres, located near Arena Potosí, is 80 % complete and will be delivered before the start of the Feria Nacional Potosina (Fenapo) on 7 August 2026. The infrastructure is intended to provide safer, smoother traffic for thousands of fair visitors and to reduce travel times for residents and workers in the industrial south of the city.

In a separate meeting with Federal Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch, Gallardo agreed to increase joint security operations across the state. The plan calls for a stronger presence of the National Guard, the armed forces, state police and prosecutors on main highways, state roads and other strategic zones, aiming to keep San Luis Potosí among the safest Mexican states by curbing high‑impact crime and protecting families.
