Governor Ricardo Gallardo launches second phase of Vía Alterna Sur road project in San Luis Potosí

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí inaugurated the second stage of the Vía Alterna Sur, a five‑kilometre road corridor linking Eje 122 to Eje 140. The phase will be built with an initial state investment of more than 140 million pesos and includes 60,000 m² of asphalt pavement, drainage works and new road signage.

The project is expected to serve over 500,000 daily users, shorten travel times to the state’s industrial zone, and improve safety and traffic flow. Gallardo presented the work as part of a broader metropolitan connectivity plan that also incorporates the modernised Circuito Potosí, an extended Avenida Salk, new vehicular bridges and a future grade‑separated crossing at the Arena Potosí, aiming to boost industrial investment and job creation in the region.
