Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom Wins Multiple African Governance and Health Insurance Awards

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Health Insurance Development Award 2026, presented by Health Insurance and Managed Care National Leadership. The award recognised the rapid growth of the Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Agency, which has expanded enrolment and service delivery since its launch less than a year ago.

At the 19th Security Watch Africa Conference in Banjul, The Gambia, Governor Eno was named African Leader in People‑Centric Governance for 2025. The event also honoured Commissioner of Police Baba Mohammed Azare, Chief Superintendent Besta Sini John, and the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for anti‑crime and proactive policing achievements. The recognitions highlighted the state’s governance model that links security, development and health‑care reforms.
