Polish schools host ceremonies to close 2025/2026 academic year

Across dozens of towns in Poland, primary and secondary schools marked the end of the 2025‑2026 academic year with formal ceremonies. Events in Łęki Szlacheckie, Moszczenica, Wieluń, Naprawa, Wygiełzów, Podkowa Leśna, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Lębork, Cienin Kościelny and many others featured speeches by local officials, the handing out of certificates, scholarships and medals, and farewell tributes to retiring teachers. Notable recognitions included the Gmina Moszczenica’s first‑time award of 168 merit‑based scholarships, the awarding of the Stypendium Prezesa Rady Ministrów in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, and numerous local “Nagrody Wójta” and “Stypendia Wójta” for top‑performing pupils. Some schools highlighted international projects, such as ZSMI Lębork’s Erasmus+ exchange and partnerships with industry. In parallel, nationwide discussions on school infrastructure were sparked by the “Dzwonek na zmiany” campaign, which urges a shift from simple cosmetic repairs to comprehensive modernisation of school buildings used by over 5 million students. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church’s youth programme “Reset Serca” in Łużna and a series of summer evangelisation festivals were slated to involve about 120 000 young people, signalling a broader focus on youth engagement beyond the classroom.
