Graeme Dott on trial for child abuse allegations

Former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has appeared at the High Court in Glasgow to face trial regarding allegations of child sexual abuse. The 49-year-old is accused of lewd and libidinous behavior toward a boy and a girl between 1993 and 2010.

The prosecution alleges that the incidents occurred on various occasions at locations in South Lanarkshire, Glasgow's east end, and within a vehicle. In the case involving a female witness, now in her 40s, it is alleged that Dott inappropriately touched her and instructed her to remove her clothing. The witness testified that during one incident, Dott carried her down a flight of stairs and began caressing her.

Regarding the allegations involving a boy, Dott is accused of making sexual remarks, watching the child shower, and molesting him. Dott, who won the world snooker title in 2006, has denied all charges.
