Lumellogno neighbor arrested for attempted murder after stabbing

A dispute between neighbors in Lumellogno, a hamlet of Novara, escalated into a violent stabbing on the night of August 14. A 50-year-old Italian man was arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly attacking his 68-year-old neighbor with a kitchen knife.

According to investigators, the incident began when the 68-year-old victim went to the neighbor's apartment to complain about noise disturbances, reportedly carrying a stick. The confrontation turned physical, and the 50-year-old suspect struck the victim in the abdomen.

The victim was transported to the Maggiore Hospital in Novara in critical condition for emergency surgery on his intestines. While his condition has since improved and he is no longer considered to be in life-threatening danger, he remains hospitalized. Police seized the weapon used in the attack, and the suspect's arrest was subsequently validated by a judge, resulting in precautionary custody in prison.
