Gramado and Porto/Norte regions report significant tourism growth in 2026

Tourism data for the first half of 2026 shows significant growth in both Gramado, Brazil, and the Porto and Norte region of Portugal.

In Gramado, there were 5.6 million overnight stays during the first semester. The tourism movement strengthened notably from March onward, with unique visitors increasing by an average of 13.6% per month between February and May. May saw the highest monthly flow with 436,000 visitors, while the peak day was June 6, during Corpus Christi, which recorded 112,943 unique visitors. Most visitors, between 55% and 59%, stayed overnight in the city, with June recording the highest number of overnight guests.

In Portugal, the Porto and Norte region accounted for nearly 75% of the country's total increase in overnight stays during the same period. The region recorded 6.87 million overnight stays, a 5.4% increase compared to 2025. This growth contributed to a regional revenue of 526.6 million euros, a 5.6% rise. The data indicates a qualitative shift in demand, with stays in four- and five-star establishments increasing by 7.0% and 10.8% respectively, suggesting visitors are staying longer and spending more.
