Gramado Film Festival selects six Brazilian features for 2026 competition

The 54th Festival de Cinema de Gramado will run from 12 to 22 August 2026 in the Serra Gaúcha. Six Brazilian feature‑films have been chosen for the competitive Kikito competition: Chorão: Só os Loucos Sabem (São Paulo), Feito Pipa (Ceará), Justino – Nos Bastidores do Reino (Distrito Federal), Leite em Pó (Minas Gerais/São Paulo/Rio Grande do Norte), Nosso Segredo (Minas Gerais) and Pele de Rinoceronte (Rio de Janeiro). The opening film, shown hors‑concours on 14 August, is the Globo production Antártida, directed by Bruno Safadi and starring Marina Ruy Barbosa, Andrea Beltrão, Lázaro Ramos and others. Actor Marcos Caruso will receive the Troféu Cidade de Gramado for his career. The competition lineup was curated by actresses Ana Flávia Cavalcanti and Camila Morgado together with journalist Marcos Santuario, and three of the selected directors – Grace Passô, Carlos Segundo and Marcello Ludwig Maia – debut with a feature in this edition.
