Gramado implements tourism promotion and cultural preservation initiatives
The municipality of Gramado is implementing several initiatives to bolster its tourism sector and preserve local culture. The city recently participated in a roadshow with Azul Viagens in Campinas to promote its tourism structure, including the Natal Luz program and agrotourism routes. Additionally, local leaders are participating in discussions regarding the new General Tourism Law of Rio Grande do Sul to improve destination qualification.
Infrastructure improvements are underway at Praça das Etnias, where the city has revitalized the flooring and is constructing a colonial-style oven to honor the agricultural families that shaped the region's gastronomy. Mayor Nestor Tissot noted that these enhancements aim to increase visitor comfort and local pride.
On the educational front, the Hortênsia Project continues to connect local students with the city's hospitality industry. Through technical visits to local businesses, the initiative seeks to foster a sense of belonging and cultural appreciation among the younger generation by teaching them about the practical aspects of tourism and local history.
